I wanna throw an idea out there. We still have our core and thats the important thing. We can grow from that. I was very comfortable with wolf banshee heather vin scott jmicro and myself as coleaders. Mtp as well but he doesnt use this forum. What if we went back to that as a sort of commision and can discuss business on here and vote for demotions promotions and regulations. I agree with this....D

I don't quite agree with Scott that the leadership was cut, just things were reverted to restore order and stability.
I'm on a very different timezone to the rest of you so I didn't see everything that happens but let me tell you what I saw over the last 2 weeks. First we had dropped to 40 and talked about some recruitment to get back to 45. I log back in short later and we are up to 50, with a number of the lower players a lot weaker than what had been agreed. seemed like we expanded too fast, without a lot of discussion. I don't know who was accepting people or setting the standards. I understand if people wanted to bring in their kids, but where an exception is being made for someone, it should be communicated on clan message or this forum - clan chat refreshes to quickly to rely on it to communicate. Then a few days later i log in and it seems promotions have gone insane, a number of people were promoted that showed no restraint in promoting everyone. the last thing I say was zippy and timmy making irishboy and a a newly joined person coleaders - as far as I could see things had broken down into complete anarchy and I hadn't even seen a conversation about considering promotions beforehand. So I agree all of that had to be reverted, but not that people who were co-leaders before the anarchy should have been cut. I have no problem with a lot of coleaders - like 10 or 15, as long as they are all moderate and responsible. in my book, co leaders should be banshee, Heather, MTP, Scott, jmicro and maybe a few others. We need solid criteria on co -leaders - I think a minimum of 100 war stars, continous donations, helpful advice. I'm tempted to say future promotions should be discussed here first - starting a thread now to discuss them. promotion may not sound like a big thing, but we saw here that giving the wrong people co leader can mess things up badly very qickly.
Where do we go from here - i vote we close the clan at 45, try and get things to settle for a while, maybe some come, maybe some go, but we don't need to go to 50 too quickly.
I agree with heathers proposal for a longer more detailed blurb for the clan. I agree we need to enforce some rules, but there must always be lenience for new members, we can give them warnings... and for old hands that occasionally miss a war, but missing 2 wars with no explanation needs to be a hanging offence.
One option to help enforce that is demotion - nearly all the long term members are elder - if they miss a war demote them.
Sorry, i've gone on a bit, but felt I needed to vent a bit, hope we can get everything a bit more stable in the coming weeks.

Exactly the way ive seen this whole thing unfold vin. Leadership was not cut just titles. The bleeding had to be stopped and at the time it was difficult to decide where to reset. I went with almost the beginning figuring there would be less hurt feelings if all were involved as a obvious move to just stop the madness. We will recover from this as are core is still intact but i feel we are better off in the 40-45 player range for a while

I'm definitely ready to find a way forward. I know it was shocking for some to see the reset but it needed to happen. I think there is a strong agreement on who should be promoted and would like to see that happen.
As far as how we grew, I think it might have happened because we went from closed to open - skipping invite only. All of a sudden we were full and that's a lot to undertake. It's no wonder about the chaos as that's where it stemmed.
I agree with the thought towards a slower build of members with understanding that not every person who joins will stay. And that some, like ger the great, will try to ruffle our feathers. We'll have to be prepared for that and in agreement with what the overall direction of the clan is.
It was nice having a full clan but it seems a difficult achievement so let's go for quality over quantity as suggested.
Lets get back to what makes us fun...joking around and winning wars! IWM!
